GroundZERO Youth is a ministry of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church that reaches out to students from the 7th grade through 12th grade.

Our mission is Win, Train, Send.  We work diligently to make disciples of Christ by moving them through a process:

• Win students to Christ through the Wednesday night youth service
• Train them to grow in their relationship with Christ and fellow believers by getting involved in a small group Bible study on Sunday nights
• Send them to serve in the church and our community

Win

We want to win students to Christ by getting them involved in our Wednesday After School Ministry and Youth Service.

GroundZERO Youth Ministry offers an after school program every Wednesday in the teen center from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the school year and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. during the summer.  Students can play games in the teen center, play sports in the gym, do their homework, and enjoy free food and cokes in a fun, safe and supervised environment.

Students who come to the after school ministry are required to stay for the youth service which begins at 7:00 p.m. The weekly youth service lifts up Jesus Christ and ministers to students in 7th grade through college.

The groundZERO Praise Band plays every week in the service and the students are challenged with a message from God’s Word. Our goal is to present a relevant message in a teen-friendly environment that doesn’t compromise the Word of God.

Train

We train our youth to become disciples of Jesus by teaching them the truths of the Bible during our Sunday School classes. At groundZERO we strive to get every student involved in a Bible Study Class that meets every Sunday night at 6:00 p.m.

We have four great classes that teach Bible knowledge and application. These classes provide students a small group setting that allows them to interact and learn from each other. The teachers are dedicated Christians who enjoy working with teens.

The classes are divided into: 7th and 8th grade, 9th and 10th grade, 11th and 12th grade and college aged.

At 6:00 p.m. on Sundays, students gather in the teen center for a Sunday School Rally where the youth pastor uses a teaching illustration to launch students into that night’s Bible Study.

Send

The third part of our mission at groundZERO is to send students to serve others in our Church, community and the world.

Students at groundZERO Youth Ministry will also have an opportunity to serve and use their gifts through the Student Leadership Ministry, the Student Praise Band, Mission Trips and service projects.  We also offer many events for student participation, such as the Disciple Now Weekend, Summer Camp, retreats, conferences and fun outings.
